Pages 111-112:

"Welcome to the Third Millennium!" This was the mournful refrain of a prose poem that Italian literary critic Peter Patti published in his telecom journal, Binario 1 (Track 1), two days after the destruction of the World Trade Center. Patti worried about how we would explain to our children that the toppling towers with which they had become familiar from so many films, mostly American, had become an urban reality. It was difficult, Patti wrote, to "understand the mentality of a kamikaze terrorist who goes to his death with the certainty to be glorified afterward (but where? in his village of stone and misery?)." The answer to this riddle lay in the distant past, for the suicidal destroyer "sets fire to the temple, as Herostratos has already done millennia before him. 'What a madman!' we say, shaking our heads. But knowing that people are mad, and that the world is a madhouse doesn't help us to live more securely."
(Albert Borowitz, 2005)

My (late!) answer:

A wonderful book about a tremendous catastrophe. I appreciated very much also the quotations from my (Peter Patti's) online magazine 'Binario 1' (www.francobrain.com/binario1.htm). Thank You Mr Borowitz. I'm going to purchase many other of your books. I'm sure they are equally interesting.
(Peter Patti, 2008)
